The company was founded in April 2004 with a strong business focus on software development, marketing and support of applications working with portable storage devices such as USB Flash Drives and flash based MP3 Players. In a second business unit, CoSoSys is developing and marketing endpoint security solutions that enable a secure working environment with portable storage devices.

Data Security Technologies

For CoSoSys, it was a logical step to enter the endpoint security software market. Networks and endpoints are under an increasing threat that widely available portable storage devices pose to it. CoSoSys entry into this market benefits greatly by leveraging on the know-how and partnerships acquired in the past in the portable storage device market. The first endpoint security software for professional and consumer use developed by CoSoSys was Secure it Easy, shortly followed by the company's corporate class endpoint security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution, Endpoint Protector.

To meet the market demand for better protection against the ever increasing number of threats that widely available portable storage devices pose to networks and PCs businesses heavily rely on, CoSoSys constantly improved Endpoint Protector, a high-end enterprise class endpoint security solution. Endpoint Protector is designed to protect corporate networks from threats posed by removable portable storage and endpoint devices such as USB Flash Drives, MP3 Players, iPods and digital cameras, thus effectively preventing the accidental or intentional data leaks, theft or loss. This powerful Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution also protects companies from having their network infected by viruses or other types of malware contained by removable storage devices.

Furthermore, CoSoSys has been developing secure storage devices incorporating the latest and safest authentication methods, such as biometry. Biometric authentication relies on a unique physical or behavioral trait of an individual which cannot be simulated. Biometrics is preferred to other authentication means because of three important reasons: biometric traits cannot be forgotten or mislaid and they can generally be lost only through severe traumas.

The company has offices in Germany, United States and Romania. Over the years, our company successfully launched a number of consumer software solutions that are licensed and distributed by leading OEMs and VARs together with mobile storage devices such as USB Flash Drives, external HDDs, flash memory cards and biometrically protected storage devices giving us a worldwide installed base of more than 11 million users.

Currently, CoSoSys’ software products are distributed by 70 partners in 30 countries.
